The Bottega Farm Inn

Bottega Farm Inn is a modern conference and retreat centre with guest accommodations nestled within the trees on a 13-acre property in southeast Kelowna, BC.

Designed with energy efficiency and functionality in mind, this project integrated many different types of construction to achieve the Client’s desired look and function. The building was designed using IFC blocks, poured-in-place concrete, standard wood framing, structural steel, Glulam beams, timber strand posts and beams, and structural wood sheathing/soffit materials.

The space is heated and cooled with a geothermal ground loop system and boasts large overhangs and energy efficient windows and cladding to help reduce the overall operational costs.

Completed in the fall of 2011, the building is two and a half stories high and approximately 15,700 sq ft. It is arranged into two wings which are connected by a two-storey bridge. The north wing contains an entry lobby, lounge, administrative offices, support functions, and a vaulted Great Room. The south wing contains ten (10) sleeping rooms, a kitchen, bistro and a classroom. The two wings are arranged to create two courtyards: a welcoming public court yard at the front entrance and a larger, more private courtyard to the rear.
